The Blue Bulls will be without the services of Deon Stegmann for at least a month.

Stegmann, one of the team’s unsung heroes, injured a hamstring against the Free State Cheetahs on Saturday and according to team doctor Org Strauss, it may even be more than a month before the fetcher can play again.

"Deon suffered a grade two tear of the hamstring. He may be out for six weeks. There is always a chance that he will be able to start playing again earlier, but he won’t be risked," said Strauss.

Dean Greyling will also be out of action for at least two weeks. He is experiencing pressure on a disc in his neck and is not allowed to take any contact for two weeks.

"Fortunately for him a scan showed that an operation won’t be required, so we will treat him conservatively and keep him off the field for a few weeks," said Strauss.

Jaco Pretorius and Okkie Kruger have started training again after injuries sustained earlier in the season.
