Lions coach John Mitchell has made only one change to the starting side that lost 32-0 to Western Province for Saturday's Currie Cup match against GWK Griquas in Kimberley.

On the bench Doppies la Grange makes a welcome return after injury in place of Pieter Engelbrecht, while Jonathan Mokuena replaces Wikus van Heerden. Buys' place on the bench is taken by Wayne Swart.

Mitchell could not consider Tonderai Chavhanga, JC Janse Van Rensburg, Burton Francis, Johan Snyman, and Wandile Mjekevu who all carry injuries.

The Lions team to play Griquas is:

Jaco Taute, Deon van Rensburg, Marius Delport, Waylon Murray, Michael Killian, Herkie Kruger, Jano Vermaak, Warren Whiteley, Franco van der Merwe (capt.), Derick Minnie, David Bulbring, George Earle, Ross Geldenhuys, Martin Bezuidenhout, Kevin Buys.

Replacements: Edgar Marutlulle, Wayne Swart, Trevor Hall, Jonathan Mokuena, Chris Jonck, Elton Jantjies, Doppies la Grange.
