Bulls loose forward, Dewald Potgieter, has extended his contract with the side till 2013.

Potgieter, who joined the Bulls in 2006 whilst still a schoolboy star in Eastern Province, will be Loftus Versfeld-based until at least after the Super 15 season in 2013.

"I am very happy where I am. In terms of the bigger picture, I gave myself till 2011 to make the Springboks side, after which I was planning to go overseas and play," Potgieter said.

"After making the Springboks in 2009, I have adjusted my goals and now is looking forward to the challenge to try and establish myself on national level and by staying with the Bulls, it will give me the opportunity to try and do that."

Potgieter also want to help build the Bulls legacy.

"Some of the senior guys will move on after 2011 and some rebuilding will be needed to continue the legacy here. I would like to be around to help with that process."

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke expressed his delight on the news.

"Dewald is not only one of our internationals, he is also a fantastic leader, player and team man. The future at the Bulls certainly will be bright if we continue with players of his calibre."
