Three match points will guarantee Bath Rugby a 4th place finish and a visit to Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership semi-finals, anything less and Bath will be sweating on other results.
Bath, who are bidding to reach a third successive semi-final, have won ten of their last eleven matches in the Guinness Premiership.
Leeds Carnegie ensured their survival in the Guinness Premiership with their victory over Worcester Warriors last Sunday, making it back to back wins in the competition.
Bath have won their last four encounters against Leeds in all competitions, since the Yorkshirmen’s 25-14 victory at Headingley in the Premiership in January 2006.
Leeds have won three times before at The Rec, the last of which was in November 2005.
Now strong contenders for the top four spot in the Guinness Premiership following three wins in one week, Bath Rugby's Head Coach Steve Meehan is hoping to win "in style" at The Rec.
"I hope that we get a decent day for the match," said Meehan. "Obviously our first objective is to win the game, but we would like to do it in style and in the same form that the team have been playing in recently.
"It is especially important to us in front of the home supporters because they have been very good to us over the course of this season."
Having achieved such an incredible feat in their last run of matches, the icing on the cake was really the win against Wasps at Twickenham, putting some ghosts to bed and marking an incredibly special occasion.
"It couldn't have gone any better," admitted Steve. "It was an exceptional period for the players over those eight days and to come in and win that last game in the fashion they did at Twickenham was magnificent.
"A lot of thanks and credit has got to go to the medical and strength and conditioning team because they did a great job in between matches for our guys."
England World Cup winner Andy Gomarsall is set to make his final appearance for Leeds Carnegie at one of his former clubs when the Yorkshire side.
Gomarsall joined Leeds last summer from Harlequins on a one year contract and will leave the club after Saturday's game having helped the team to their goal of survival in the Guinness Premiership.
Saturday's game will be his first start since his 200th Guinness Premiership appearance at Sale back in February. He played for Bath back in 1998 making two league appearances.
The Leeds Carnegie side also includes Erik Lund who will be leaving the club to join Biarritz next season whilst on the bench Alex Moreno will be making his final appearance before retiring and Joe Ford and Henry Paul could make their last appearances for Leeds Carnegie also.
