Leeds Carnegie captain Marco Wentzel has committed himself to the Yorkshire club for next season regardless of this Sunday's result against Worcester Warriors at Headingley Carnegie, kick off 3pm.

The game is being billed as the Million Pound Match such is the significance of surviving in the Guinness Premiership to Leeds Carnegie. However, the skipper says that he is committed to Leeds for next season regardless of what division they are playing in.

Wentzel, who joined Leeds from reigning Guinness Premiership champions Leicester Tigers last summer, said, "We have put ourselves in a great position with our win at London Irish.

"I was immensely proud of the team on Sunday because of the effort ad commitment they showed for one another when most people did not give us a chance.

"I signed a two year contract with Leeds when I moved here because I believed in the things that Andy Key and Neil Back are trying to do here. We do not want to be playing in the Championship next season and our fate is in our own hands.

"We have a massive game on Sunday against Worcester and hopefully we will have a big crowd behind us because I know it means a lot to a lot of people that we stay up.

"We have faced some tough challenges and it will be the same on Sunday against a Worcester side who are fighting for their lives."

"However, we are at home and we want to produce another performance that we, and the fans, can be proud of," added Wentzel.
